Rising omicron cases weigh on mood but economic recovery hopes and fund inflow support

Market outlook & strategy
The SET is expected to rise on the first trading day of the new year, although it is likely to be highly volatile because of fears of a surge in omicron cases after the long New Year holiday. However, hopes for economic recovery in 2022 will boost fund inflow and the market. We assign resistance at 1,660-1,670 and supports at 1,645-1,650. Tactically, we recommend buy selectively or speculate cautiously. After 50% of the core portfolio is placed in reopening plays, it is time to take the sidelines.
